Canada rolls out a range of immigration programs both federal and provincial to offer permanent residency options to skilled and semi-skilled professionals. Furthermore, it is provided on the basis of work experience, language proficiency, education, family members, and the ability to be financially established in the country. Also, immigrants need not seek a job-offer requirement to secure permanent resident status.

This program includes the following categories:

• Federal Skilled Worker (FSW Under Express Entry):

In this program, professionals with substantial work experience from outside Canada are eligible for PR. Even if they don’t have any Canadian work experience or education credentials, they can apply for a PR visa.

• Canadian Experience Class (CEC Under Express Entry):

Under this program, professionals with a minimum of 1 year of work experience in Canada are eligible to apply for a PR visa.

• Federal Trades Class (Under Express Entry):

This program involves specific trades work experience, such as carpenters, construction workers, bakers, chefs/cooks, electricians, plumbers, truck drivers, and others to qualify for PR.

• Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs):

In Canada, provincial governments also offer immigration programs that suit the work/labor market requirements of their provinces. Furthermore, it gives a due advantage to applicants who have connection ties to the province via relatives, job experience, or education.

• Caregiver Programs:

With an intent to offer new PR pathways, Canada launched a new Caregiver pilot program in June 2019. It is to assist home support workers and home childcare providers get Permanent Residency. An eligible applicant from outside Canada can also apply to attain PR under the program.
